2012 Breezehouse by Sunset

Sunset's 2012 Breezehouse--a pre-fab home that's currently being built in a Vallejo, Calif., factory--Follow along as it move from designing and manufacturing to unfolding and decorating.  It will be open for tours this summer in Healdsburg.

Dates: Tours will be available every weekend from August 3, 2012 through September 9, 2012.

Time: Fridays through Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission: $17 per person; $15 on Fridays for seniors
A portion of tour proceeds will be donated to the Healdsburg Animal Shelter (707/431-3386).

dwell + Marin modern home tour

This weekend, 4/30-5/1, is the 1st annual dwell + marin magazine modern home tour that give you the opportunity to tour some unique modern omes in marin county designed by some of the bay area most creative architects.

Home tours begin at 10am until 4pm.

$75 single-day pass

$150 weekend pass (includes an invitation to meet the architects, a $25 value)

The Michigan Modernism Exposition, 5/6-8

Catch the excitement of the Michigan Modernism Exposition this year at the Southfield Municipal Complex in Southfield, Michigan.

The exposition features outstanding examples of pieces designed by such greats as Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Herman Miller, Heywood Wakefield the Stickleys, and Salvadore Dali. This is but a sampling of the many talented designers representing the Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Prairie, Arts and Crafts, Surrealistic and Neo-Classical Schools of design, all considered hallmark styles within the Modernism movement.
